In an era of uncertainty, higher education professionals have continuously demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and commitment to their students and institutions. This year’s CCPA Institute theme Rooted in Resilience: Education, Healing, and Community in Times of Change, reflects the strength of our field and the power of education to foster healing and connection. This year, California has endured significant hardship, particularly with devastating wildfires that have impacted communities across the state. In addition, budget cuts have taken place across higher education institutions that will impact various functional areas such as student support services and identity resource centers. These challenges underscore the importance of resilience—not only in our personal lives but also in our educational institutions and support systems.
Interested presenters can submit the following presentation types:
50-minute Presentation: One or more presenters. We encourage discussion time and Q&A at the end.
50-minute Panel: A panel with a moderator. A brief presentation from the panelists followed by discussion with the audience. We encourage collaboration across institutions.
15-minute California Chats: One or two presenters. Short presentations with highlights of a topic (similar to TED Talks).
50-minute Roundtable Discussions: One or more presenters share their experiences on a topic of interest and engage participants in conversation. Examples include, but are not limited to soliciting feedback on a proposed project or discussing hot topics in the field.
We welcome a broad range of program proposals that align with this theme and we are open to diverse interpretations. Some topics that encompass this year’s theme are exploring innovative approaches to student support, institutional strategies, mental health initiatives, community-building efforts, cultivating resilience within educational communities and more. We encourage presenters to explore resilience in creative ways, whether through research, lived experiences, best practices, or emerging trends.
Join us in shaping an inspiring and thought-provoking institute.
