Consider applying to join the California College Personnel Association Leadership Team in 2025! We are seeking skilled and motivated leaders to join us, from graduate students to faculty.

All candidates who accept elected and appointed positions must be members of the California College Personnel Association.

Board members shall complete tasks supporting the CCPA for approximately one to two hours each week, with increased commitments for key events. Terms of service will begin on January 1, 2025.

Elected Positions

The 2025 California College Personnel Association Team seeks candidates for the following elected positions:

Position

Responsibilities

President-Elect (3-year appointment)
  • Collaborating with the president to coordinate the business of the Association.
  • Developing the slate of candidates for appointed Leadership Directorate positions and appointing members to all committees.
  • Presiding over the Leadership Directorate in the absence of the president.
  • Participating in biweekly virtual Leadership Directorate meetings.
    Other duties as deemed necessary by the President.

This is a three (3) year position as part of the Presidential Cycle (President-Elect, President, Past-President).

 

Director of Communications (2-year appointment)
  • Maintaining oversight of information dissemination within the Association.
  • Chairing the communications and marketing committee to manage social media and the website as needed.
  • Promoting the use of technology as a means of communication and networking within the Association, i.e., monthly CCPA e-newsletter.
  • Supporting communication efforts of the leadership officers.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the President.
Director of Professional Development (2-year appointment)
  • Developing an annual professional development theme for the California College Personnel Association and develop programming (webinars, classes, etc.) in support of the effort.
  • Communicating relevant opportunities to membership as needed.

Appointed Positions

The 2025 California College Personnel Association Team seeks nominees to be appointed to the following positions:

Position

Responsibilities

Director of Equity & Social Justice (2-year appointment)
  • Supporting the Association by managing how we center the Strategic Imperative for Racial Justice & Decolonization in our day-to-day, long-term operations and strategic planning and priorities.
    Serve as a liaison for membership to existing coalitions, commissions, communities of practices as well as the governing board within ACPA.
  • Chairing equity-based projects that support the general membership.
Director of Membership (2-year appointment)
  • Updating the Leadership Directorate monthly on the CCPA membership count.
  • Coordinates CCPA and ACPA annual awards processes and presents awards at appropriate venues (when possible).
  • Developing a strategy to cultivate CCPA member affinity and engagement.
  • Cultivating and expanding membership benefits.
  • Extending congratulations for awards, promotions, and accomplishments, e.g. “Golden State Spotlight”
  • Managing organizational email rosters and personally following up with those who have lapsed in membership using Mailchimp and tags
  • Understanding membership interests and climate through coordination of membership survey and other outreach metrics
Historian (2-year appointment)
  • Record keeping related to the events, activities, initiatives, and accomplishments of the organization throughout the course of the year.
  • Collaborate with the Past President on CCPA Chapter Annual Report.
  • Provide general support as needed to the Leadership Directorate by providing historical knowledge and context for various aspects of the organization.
Member at Large [multiple positions available] (1-year appointment)

 

  • Serving as a liaison to general CCPA membership and support the leadership team.
  • Specializing in membership engagement, communications (including social media and websites), professional development, and equity and social justice programming.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the President.
Graduate Representative (1-year appointment)
  • Represent graduate students in student services, student affairs, and counseling-based programs (or related field).
  • Attend/participate in CCPA leadership meetings where they act as liaisons between graduate students and CCPA leadership, communicating the professional development needs of the graduate students to CCPA leadership.
